Complimentary to Full Grooms and Maintenance Grooms. An important part of your pooch's health and wellbeing. Ensures nails do not cause mobility and joint issues, as well as damaging paw pads which could cause pain and infection. (if you can hear your pooches nails tapping on the floor, they may be too long)!

This will vary depending on coat density, condition, and size of dog.

Please note: It is not possible to handstrip coats where a dog has been neutered, the coat has been previously clipped, or other reasons such as behaviour, hormone, illness and age related issues which may soften/change the texture of the coat or affect behaviour/temperament.

Large breeds (25kg+)/Thick double coat types (+£10)

Each session will be utilised up to what is comfortable for your pup.  These sessions are initially to gain the trust of your pup in this new environment, and reduce the fear that some dogs may have when visiting the Groomers. We work towards using these sessions to complete a puppy groom and tidy-up.

Price and timings will vary depending on Behaviour/temperament, Flea treatments/coat density, coat condition, and size of dog.

Large breeds (25kg+)/Thick double coat types (+£5 per hour)

Subject to Pre-booking/availability.  

You may book at this price if secured within 1 week of the last puppy session appointment (secured = deposit paid) and a minimum of 1 hour session applies.

The extended sessions can be used to cover 'full styling' should your pup be ready (up to 6 months old).

(25kg+)/Thick double coat types (+£5 perhour/£2.50 per 30mins)

Complimentary to Full Grooms and Maintenance Grooms. An important part of your pooch's health and wellbeing. It is best for your dogs health and welfare to be on a regular grooming schedule, usually around 6-8 weeks (depending on breed) for a full professional groom.  This should include maintenance/effective brushing at home, to avoid your dog requiring extra time and discomfort of the de-matting process.  

Double-coated breeds cannot be shaved down. If shaved, this can cause your dog to be unable to regulate its body temperature (thermoregulation). It can also cause other skin and hair issues. De-matting of a Double-coated breed can therefore being very time consuming and also require additional products.

Should a dog be presented with a matted or neglected coat, if our opinion is that it will be kinder to shave the coat back completely, this will be done in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Section 5 - Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering).  Agreement of this service is always confirmed before completion. By agreeing to this, you accept it can lead to skin irritation, skin sores, redness, skin bleeding from dog scratching and other related conditions.

We request that all clients keep up to date with regular Flea Treatments at home, but if you become aware of a flea infestation prior to your booked appointment, please make us aware in advance. This may mean we can move your appointment to a later time in the day, if possible.

Extra time/handling may be required due to Behavioural issues or illness.  Owners are responsible for advising the Groomer of any previous behavioural issues/aggression with regard to the grooming process. As a lone Groomer, it may be necessary to refer particularly difficult cases where extra assistance is required. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dog Act , which holds owners liable for bites and injuries.
